Re: John Charles Megraw
Hi. John Charles (Who was know as Charles), was my mothers grandfather and she remembers he was injured while serving in the merchant navy and passed away. His wife was Amy and children Charlotte Megraw, Ernest Megraw, Lucy Megraw, Arthur Megraw, Albert E Megraw and Harry James Megraw (who is my grandfather). I know he was born in Bradford from research ive done. He is buried with his wife Amy in Brithdir Cemetery, Brithdir.
Can you let me know what type of other information you need.
Thank you
Jo

Joanne can you add any information that you may have as to
why you believe that Charles had a Merchant Navy back ground.

Re: John Charles Megraw
Hiya Keith. He was born in Padfield in Berkshire and was living in Stanford in the Vale in Berskhire at 1891. Moved to Wales sometime in the 1800's as he Married Amy in 1907. I would have thought it would have been Bradfield rather than Bradford as Bradfield is in Berkshire

Also do the family names Ogborne-Bathurst or Carter ring any bells ?
Keith.

Intrigued as unless the trail is not correct, he appears to have died in 1950 hence approx. age 73.
Burial:
1950
New Tredegar, Caerphilly, Wales

PS. RE: My last post #18:
Just realised your surname is Carter - Any ideas on Ogborne-Bathurst.
