SS. Persic
Hello Chaps,
Could anyone possibly tell me the callsign for Shaw Savill's SS. Persic? Also, what routes did 'Persic' run?
Thanks in advance.
Cheerio,
Jim

Re: SS. Persic
The earlier SS Persic was an ocean liner of the White Star Line, built by Harland and Wolff in 1899. ... Name: SS Persic. Owner ... Official number: 110620; Call sign: BKGS.
Would the later vessel have a differing call sign ?

Re: SS. Persic
Thanks Gents. Sorry Doc, but there is no 'Persic' on your list. I believe it is mainly listing naval vessels.
I would believe that 'Persic' 1949, would have a different callsign to the older one. 'Persic's' sister ship, 'Runic' (also 1949), has the callsign GGCS.
Don't worry too much, but I appreciate your assistance.
Cheers

Re: SS. Persic
Yes Jimmy i saw that but anyway tried LOL
I do believe though that there is a Book for Radio Operators (its quite old) that lists many of the UK registered Ships with their Call Signs! Not sure though where one could get a copy, and even the name of the Book??
Cheers I did see that the letters GG--- refers to UK ships so it must have been those two with something else!
