    Default Reading a book

I am an avid reader, and reading a book at the moment.
Author is Peter May and the book is The Chess Men. There are 3 books in by him about Isle of Lewis & Harris
He seems to use a bit of historical fact and fiction in his books
Came across a chapter in the Chess Men in which he mentions a naval yacht the IoIaire which was wrecked on 1 January 1919.
To be honest I have never heard about this so I thought it was just a part of the story.
Did a bit of google research/Wiki, and all true https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMY_Iolaire

I can certainly see were Peter May got the history from for this book. Apparently it is not plagiarism, but a legal loop hole called to Paraphrase.
I have read all the books in his Lewis trilogy and on reflection he has been doing it in all these books.
Enjoyable reading but !!!! is it fair?

For factual history there is none finer than Wilbur Smith.
His research is amazing and the stories written around facts of the times.
All well worth a read, have read most of the twice.
    Happy daze John in Oz.
