I'm Temporaily Snowed Under
With a retirees newsletter hardly started and due for the printer next week, their website not properly updated and she whom must be obeyed not being obeyed as diligently as she would like, I'm off the radar for a few weeks. Of course I will be having a peek regularly to keep up to date.
Cheers. Richard

Re: I'm Temporaily Snowed Under
No snow, but there's been plenty water.!
Me too.I'm a bit(lot!) cream-crackered looking after Chris since his stroke and now in the process of moving house, downsizing from this town house to a private retirement apartment complex here in Severn Valley, with such a lot of life's clutter to get rid of before the move..
The river level eventually peaked at 5m last week and the millions spent on the flood defence barriers here after the 2000 and 2007 floods proved their worth again.
Nevertheless the town's businesses suffered a drop in trade, and we had to endure a 10-mile round trip diversion for a week whilst the bridge remained closed due to high river level, and the possibility of it being damaged by sheer weight of the running water.
Such is life.
I don't contribute as much as I used to over the past six or so years, but always nice to take a little break ,log on and find out what's been floating all your boats.
Best Regards to all, especially those with tribulations!

Good luck Gulliver and with the downsizing too. That is also part of our agenda, we're down to another of our countless 'dispose ofs' and get harsher every time but wherever we go we will need a big shed!!
Cheers,
Richard

It may look that I am on line, but I keep forgetting to log out.

Re: I'm Temporaily Snowed Under
G'day shipmates. I have been flat out like a lizard drinking since my last post from this outpost. Getting the hacienda spruced up, getting the QIO newsletter published and tackling the update of my website. The only thing finished is the newsletter!!! Just to put icing on the cake, a whopping great storm came over Katoomba last night and as I was calming Cleo our dog from hanging from the chandelier as all hell broke loose there was a loud crash as the guttering upstairs succumbed to the weight of the hailstones. But AH! it's insured and someone else can do the fixing.
I'm still hard at it -er, the work I mean - but you might care to see some of the photos I have added along with other stuff on my website. The members are a bunch of "gunners" - 'I'm gunner send you some stuff when I sort it out'. Anyway, the URL is www.queenslandinsuranceoldies.org and I suggest the first click is on the thistle flag on the top left hand corner of the home page.
Cheers, Richard
