Here you will find lots of info,good Crew and with luck also find a few old Shipmates of your friends Dad! Good luck!
As he was still in the Merc after 1972 there would be no records held for him either,so that bit is knocked out!
I am sure there may be someone who might recall him,as there are so amny here! Might take some time so do look in at times to see if there are any posts on this!
Anyway sit back,relax and just enjoy the trip!

Hi John,
I have just joined this site and recognised the name Davie McOwat straight away, he was (if the same guy) smallish with curly ginger hair and a good Gordie accent.
The ship was the MV Benstac if I remember correctly.
If I am on the correct tracks, please get back to me, even if I am 2 yrs late, lol
