TSS Nestor 1941
Hello,
I am a new member and am seeking information on the Blue Funnel TSS Nestor, especially the departure around 19th September 1941. My mother Anita Harrison, her mother and other female family were aboard, (cabin 83). They were living in Singapore so I don't know the route Nestor took to England and if it picked them up from Singapore. Any assistance or guidance would be very much appreciated.
Thank you,
Nikki

Nestor passenger list
Thank you so much Hugh for this information. I can't wait to see if their names Harrison are on the list.
Hugh, do you know how many passengers the Nestor held or how many cabins? Any suggestions as to where I could find detailed information about the ship?
Many thanks, Nikki

TSS Nestor passenger list found for 5 Nov 1941
Hi
I have just found the passenger list online and would be happy to look up any names. My mother's family were aboard. Nestor was returning Civil Servants, Medical staff and military families back to England. Thank you Hugh for your help.
Unfortunately, it only says soldier next to some names and does not list a Regiment. Any ideas how I could learn more about which soldiers were leaving Singapore in Sep (?) 1941
Regards,
Nikki

Hello Nikki,
There may or may not be a reference in the narrative of the ship's official logbook for 1941 which is held at Kew in piece BT 381/1307. However, my feeling is that it won't name actual units.
It may be worth posting on World War 2 Talk which has some knowledgeable folks who may be able to assist.
Regards
Hugh
ps attachement below from Talbot Booth 1942.

I have just become a member and saw your question.
My father served on the Nestor for most of the 2nd World War. The Maritime Museum in Liverpool has most of the information relating to voyages and the Nestor is a particularly well known ship.
Kind regards
Phil Howell
