I havent been able to find anything as yet but will continue to look.

Could be some Shipping Federation Badge ? The Rising Sun in the BADGE ?Wonder if they may suggest China at all ??
Hope we can ID this one . Would make a good Quiz!

With the Crown and National flag one would think it would be Royal Union something or other. Was there a Royal Union line at one time ? Or something similar. JS the rising sun could implicate the orient also in the name. JS

The arms look like those of British Columbia, Canada and the badge design with the naval crown possibly semi-official perhaps a harbour board or similar or local shipping company.

Remember seeing that rising sun on a funnel at one time, the crown would suggest a former colony (rather than China where a crown would be alien to their thinking) The sails at the top of the badge are near enough a replica of the British MN B O T badge, I would venture that it may have had connections with Malaysia, Burma etc of the past

Looks very similar! From Wikipedia: "...the flag of British Columbia was introduced on June 14, 1960, by Premier W. A. C. Bennett, and was first flown on board the BC Ferries motor vessel Sidney (later Queen of Sidney)."

According to the book 'Heraldry of the Oceans' - The Garb of the Merchant Seafarer by Alastair Arnott - it's the cap badge of British Columbia Ferries (see Page 29, item 46).

I thought that was already established the last time that badge appeared , it was thought to be the British Columbia ferries company?
