Can you give us your father's date and place of birth, as there may be a few people with the same name, any little bit of additional information you can supply will help even though it may not seem important to you. Do you have amongst his papers his Discharge Book number a 5/6 digit normally preceded by an 'R' but sometimes not, anything at all will help
