Hello John, Cappy means well, you'll get used to him, but don't get involved with Mary's wooden leg, he gets very possessive about it. Not from Hull originally, a true cockney by birth, born in London whilst bow bells were ringing, got bombed out in London, also Manchester and also York, think the Germans gave me my travelling bug, eventually ending up in Hull, after a spell in the Dales, my mum's home town, Shipped out on my first trawler from Hull aged 13 enroute to Iceland (the country not the supermarket), also went to Trinity House Navigation School (should have been called Marching School). Fortunately never spent my whole life at sea, but spent 60 working years twixt sea and shore jobs (still involved sailing at times), more on shore, but all connected with ships and shipping in one form or another, wouldn't have had it any other way, it's one of those occupations where you never stop learning and throws a lot challenges at you, keeps the brain alive, possibly that's why we all loved/love it.

Enjoy the site and feel free to join in and regale us with a few stories as your Dis A number suggests you may have some from the past. Cheers

Now I know who to blame, there I was just getting born when one of Adolfs men dropped a bomb on the local station at the same time.
