Re: Princess cruises cancelled
I see that another cruise boat stuck off the Bahamas because 5 onboard tested positive. I was told by the nurse i saw yesterday that one of the major problems is that people on say a 7 day cruise only take enough medication with them for that period, so when its forcibly extended there is a desperate shortage of medication, kt

A few hours ago:- Holland America will suspend all cruise departures globally through April 14, 2020, and is shortening a few long cruises sailing at the time the operational pause was announced.

Re: Princess cruises cancelled
Cunard have cancelled the rest of QM2 round the world cruise, ship is presently in freemantle.
As trump yesterday banned all travel from the u.k. and Ireland entering the USA, Brian's cruise could be in danger of not going ahead.

Unfortunately from the news this morning you will not be able to go to Fleetwood either. All over 70 are about to forbidden by law from leaving our homes. I for one will accept this if it is what is needed.

Re: Princess cruises cancelled
I will contact the "People Smuggler"s to smuggle me into Fleetwood, They won't beat me.
All my money will be refunded, or put onto another cruise later with a 25% credit plus 250$ on board spends. So we are looking at the same cruise for next February back to the Sout Pacific.,,Obviously there will be no chance this year.
Cheers
Brian.

Re: Princess cruises cancelled
All the cruise companies have followed Princess on this one.
But Brian, look on the bright side, most that have canceled are offering up 175% return on monies in the form of futer cruise costs.

Re: Princess cruises cancelled
Without putting a sour note on it, will these Companies still be operating after the virus ends, can they stay viable without cruising?
I think if you follow the stock market , you will see who is keeping the panic going. The fluctuations are such that some people are making $Billions.

Re: Princess cruises cancelled
Des, the cruise industry is one of the biggest going.
It has been growing by about 20% a year for the last ten, it will survive and carry on.
Most will only hold back until mid May, Princess May 10th.
We have one booked in July around Oz and have no reason to think it will not go ahead.
