Had a wonderful cruise on a Clyde Puffer which caters for 12 passengers with Puffer Steamboat Holidays. For Information see: www.savethepuffer.co.uk/holidays. This might not be a Liner but it is a great experience.

Sea trips
Hi chaps, your thought provoking posts brings to mind the Port Nelson. Homeward bound in '62 we picked up this passenger,an old fellow, in Llyttleton. Everyday he appeared at the aft rail in a grubby undershirt and baggy grey flannels held up with braces and on really sunny days he placed a knotted hanky on his bald dome.Obviously he was an ex-pat returning for a holiday in the old country which he had not seen in over 30 years.I got to chatting with him most days, he had been a donkeyman on the Kiwi coast and never married.Over the years he had spent his money buying land in and around Christchurch. He stated that he intended travelling around the world on cargo ships until he either ran out of money or was buried at sea.Now that is what I call reirement.Have fun Mort.

Scottish Coast
Hi Robert ! was reading your post and I quite fancy a trip on her, as have wandered all over the place with different cruise companies, and now am bored with all the big ships and fancy a trip on something akin to my first ship whose net tonnage was 396tons.
Only problem is that your link does not lead anyplace for some reason, maybe out of business or changed addy etc, and wonder if you have any other address details or phone number so as I can contact them.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Having served time on the Orcades and Oriana, I don't think I could do a proper cruise - too much like a busmans holiday - but a Clyde Puffer would be something different, might be able to include some of the family.
I'm sure my dad talked of time on a puffer, but I think he may have 'worked his passage', from Glasgow to Millport!!
