Yes, the Villa Vie Residences’ Odyssey cruise ship has been stranded in Belfast for three months. It was supposed to set sail on May 30, 2024, for a three-year round-the-world voyage, but issues with the ship’s rudders and gearbox have caused significant delays123.
Passengers, who paid up to £680,000 for the trip, have been spending their days onboard and nights in local hotels2. Despite the delays, many have enjoyed exploring Belfast, though they are eager to start their journey14.
Residents / Passengers interviewed on TV this week said they enjoy Belfast and love Guinness , the down side is it never seems to stop raining.
Well it is not called the Emerald isle for nothing.

Re: Villa Vie Residences
At long last this ship has left Belfast but only to drop anchor off the County Down coast for three days. She was delayed because of a failure to complete what was described as "some final pieces of paperwork. Perhaps that paperwork was the failure to sign a cheque to H&W for the work carried. Currently H&W n eed a few quid, as Tesco says every little helps.
Anyway she has left now and according to the Marine AIS system and is heading for France.
This is an old vessel entered service in 1992 as Crown DynastyShe has had several owners. Fred Olson had her as Braemar, Think the state she was in when the current owners took her over Fred Olson were glad to see the back of her.
Ah well hope those onboard enjoy there 3 year world cruise. Perhaps if they stay on her long enough they will pay ofv at Alang India
