Does not want some of the disadvantaged to be paid the minimum wage, but happy to take 9% pay rise for himself, the Russians had the answer to this bloody system at the early part of the last century. But when the people have had enough, they will rear up!!. KT

It look like we fought a war for nothing with all the moans a groans going on .
I might get a few angry replies to this but is there any member on this sight who is in very dire ways .Most of us have our own home a car and can go on holidays and good food so whats the beef .I know as i have said before most politicians are pretty useless .What would have been like if we had lost the war that we very near did.
So if i have stirred up a can of worms so be it

Lou, You haven't opened a bag of worms at all Your opinion matters as much as anyone else on this forum, And the point you raise is a very valid one. If we would have lost the war we would not be having this debate because I doubt whether we would have freedom of speech. And I doubt if this forum let alone the internet would have been at our fingertips to express and debate our views or live in a democracy. We would be living under a dictator. And like China be dragged off the streets and locked away if you spoke against that regime. So yes you do raise a good point millions of people of all different races and creeds gave the ultimate sacrifice to rid the world of a tyrant that wanted to wipe certain races from the face of the earth. And for that your generation we are forever in your debt. After the war the population of 1945 U.K. Census was 50.000.000 work for all if you were not working you were classed as lazy. Today 2014 The official figures of the U.K. Population is 64.000.000 Which are people registered on the census it is widely believed the figure is more like 80.000.000 if you take into account illegal immigrants and the 250.000 Eastern Europeans that cross our boarders legally each year because E.U law allows the free movement of Any European to move here or any where else in the E.U. State look at this statistic and ask yourself why Britain !!!!!!! The growth of 419,900 in the past year means the UK has had the biggest growth of any country in Europe in the year to 30 June 2013 and it is now the third largest EU nation behind Germany and France, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS) figures. Because of the reasons I mentioned Britain is to soft on immigration and the plain truth is all that your generation fought to defend we cant sustain. And not lets forget we have to give them free health care, A roof over there head, There children have to be educated, And unlike other E.U. Members pay them welfare benefits. Yes you have made a valid point, I sometimes ask myself what my fore fathers fought and died for during two world wars. To quote Brian {KONG} Who I totally agree with we are dictated to by the people we once fought for our democracy and freedom of speech. We did win those two world wars didn't we !!!!!!!! Regards Lou good health Terry.

Agree totally that most on site are not in dire straights and those that are would be to proud to admit it to others. I for one do not want to end up as an old bugger lamenting about the good old days and how I recall certain things that where better. There is so much more of this road of life to traverse that I can not afford to carry all that bagage with me. Personally I am at that stage of life when I realise that it was not all beer and skittles but on reflection would not change one fecking thing from the past even if my generation let go of the reins. There was always going to be one generation that did that and glad that it was ours. Now it is time for the next one or the one after that to sort out all this crap while I head of to another adventure/experience before I am to bloody old to do it. Do you think Lou that like a lot of younger people with to much time on their hands that the same is with the older ones that enjoy a good old whinge. We have the people in power that we deserve. As for the conflicts we all know that we are being fed BS about it all.
That's the way the mop flops.

My thanks to Brian for this site.

Lou you are correct mate. You and many others did what you did so that the rest of us could benifit, yes we complain about the polis, the council and many other bodies but the fact is as you say things are the best right now. Some countries are doing better than others and NZ is a good example. But from what I have heartd speaking to people there things are on a far more even keel than some countries. The gov has put some good concepts into place. I have been told that during the Kiwi season you havea choice if on the dole, pick fruit or go without. That is what is missing in so many countries, too many govs are happy to make th ehand outs in exchange for a vote, good for them but maybe not so good for the nation in the long run.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

    Hi All.
Lou mate what people are saying here is that what you fought for all those years ago has been undermined, not that we are in the same dire straights that some people are, but the better world you suffered for has been stolen by greedy men, the politicians are only there to serve their masters not the people and help themselves in the meantime.
History has shown us that some countries find the answer the way the French and the Russians did, unpalatable as it may seem, to my mind it solved the problem in those countries at least, I can well imagine how the people in Russia would have lived like had the Tsars family been still running the country.
Australia has enormous wealth which is being shared out to overseas investors; to the detriment of the people, I never imagined back in the 60s and 70s that there would be 100,000 of thousands living in the streets and going to the handout places for food, and children living on the street to the extent that they are now. Terry said there are about 68 million people in the UK here there are only around 23million and we can't find jobs or accommodation ?????? Something definitely skewiff. And I hope no one comes up with the old political chestnut that they ALL don't want to work.
    Cheers Des

Hi Shipmates, REMPLOY I sold some of the furniture they made years ago, it was very well crafted no bad ones, a good company sadly gone today due to many cheap and nasty box jobs i.e. cash and carry trade. The disable workers? in remploy done a first class job they never said they were disable? only ABLE the government done the wrong thing on this one we need more jobs for them Not less. All of the pollys in the u.k are into fill my empty pockets, i hate the lot of them except one you all know who she is.
