I have been overwhelmed by the number of requests for new passwords
It is going to take a while as each one has to be dealt with and replied to individually but I am working on them and will get back to you as soon as I am able.

Medals
If there are any surviving MN personnel from the D Day or general landings in Normandy, the French Government has advised that it wishes to award surviving veterans the 'Legion D'Honneur' In the first instance they should contact MOD-Commemorations on 0207 218 3029 or the Veterans Agency on 0808 1914 218.
I am not sure whether or not this information has been posted before, but in any event I thought it worth repeating.

Re: Medals
Ivan, I have The Africa Star with clasp for landings at Algiers Nov.8th. '43. They fired cannon and bombed us and missed! That was French territory! don't need a French award. I'm alive, that's good enough for me.
Just a lighthearted comment. Cheers, Eric
Make that '42. Sorry late night, tired and tipsy.
