I have been overwhelmed by the number of requests for new passwords

Todays Mission.
Just been out and had a few pints decided to have one for the road in the Seamens Mission.Whilst I was there a seaman came in (Nationality Unknown) pint of guinness $5.US book Skype $2.US. What I am getting at here is that we never had Skype or the benefit of using the phone home in our days,he will speak to his family, with head phones and see them in the flesh, marvelous. Some of you on here did realy long trips and never seen your kids grow up you went away when they were infants and came home and they were running around. So the art of letter writing has gone.I used to use I think it was Basildon Bond it stated 13 pages and the envelope was the weight of the Airmail stamp.I would write a couple of pages a day get to 13 envelope it and number it.What the hell did we write about being 3 weeks at sea!!!!!As a matter of interest the barmaid said when the Chinese ships come in they carry a very large crew.
Regards.

The only letters I ever had were `Dear Johns`, these always went onto the Notice Board for all hands to read.
I guess I had some near misses there, and thank you girls for sending them.
Cheers
Brian.

Yes i also sure did a lot of letter writing
Yes i also sure did a lot of letter writing whilst ar Sea,not that i was away for too long spells, but had so many Irons on the Fire that it took me most of my spare time (which was not half enough) to keep up answering all the Sheilas!
My letters were also of very long durations, some at 20 pages, and as you say what the Heck did we find to gabble on about!
But the good thing was there were always lettes coming back for me to read haha!
But it was a marvel how we did manage to sit and write so much them days!
Now its as mentioned just things like Skype,Mobile Phones,Puters and a whole lot more!
No more fun in Courting is there LOL!
Cheers

When I was at sea I had no mail for seven months and more, Then I found out that the wife was phoning the Office saying I wanted to do Extra time. I was never getting relieved
She is not my wife anymore.
Best thing she ever did.
Cheers
Brian.
