Welcome
I have been overwhelmed by the number of requests for new passwordsIt is going to take a while as each one has to be dealt with and replied to individually but I am working on them and will get back to you as soon as I am able.Brian.Thank you for your patience, I am getting there.
I was 14 in 1945 so was not involved in any WW2 conflict.I did read about how the Japanese treated their prisoners,I have known a few who had been Japanese prisoners and no ex pow's would never forgive their captors for what they did, to the Japanese killing was a game and they enjoyed what they were doing. Through the years the memories faded, forgive? not quite, have had a Japanese young lady as a house guest could not wish for a nicer person, she did not know anything about WW2,is suppressing the facts of history a good or bad thing. Going back to WW2 the Japanese did act like barbarians. Recently read a book called "Final Betrayal" by Mark Felton that put my forgiveness back to 1945.
What happened in the war was terrible and no one can say otherwise. What annoys me more is the attempt by the Japanese to air brush it from history. By doing that all you do is keep future generations in the dark, until the day comes they do find out the truth. Like it or not no one can change the past, but wise people can learn from it.

Might i suggest that you read this about the standing orders regarding transporting of jap POW's via this link. COFEPOW - Ships - Japanese Orders This site has some really interesting info on the treatment of POW's.
KISS.keep it simple stupid
i have always said you can see your future through your past? the atrocities can't be swept under the carpet and should be taught in schools and what happened to the perpetrators of the war crimes. at the end of any conflict people have got to sit around a table and talk? why can't we talk first before murdering each other. violence should only be the last act and we still talk after that!!!!!jp
British and Commonwealth held prisoner by the Japanese 128,554. Prisoners killed and murdered by the Japanese 23,149. Japanese executed for war crimes 934 Holland 236 Great Britain 223 Australia 153 China 149 France 26 Others 7 No Japanese were held in captivity after 1955 the Americans had a big say in this as they wanted Japan on side against communism. I read somewhere that after a high ranking Japanese had been released and was on his way home he was abducted at I think at Singapore airport by the Australian SAS and put on trial.
