Guess who inventions
Seems our Atlantic cousins are celebrating the installation of the Mulberry Harbours in Normandy in WWII and you'll never guess who invented these harbours, mind you the proof of the pudding is in the eating because they still haven't learnt how to spell 'harbour' because it's now a Mulberry Harbor
Guess they will soon be signatories to the Magna Carta and an American Knight (no not Alan Lad) will have been head of the Round Table
But look on the bright side it will soon be President Obama who will have to apologise for all the atrocities we are purported to have committed worldwide thus relieving David Cameron of this task he has taken upon himself

Big Brother
Ref. the recent whistle blower about the U.S. having access to private email etc. I thought everyone was aware of this. As police etc. have copied mail from paedophiles and child molesters. In fact I like to think that when I make a discriminatory statement about our pontifacting politicians I like to think it may be getting picked up by some government think tank and go into the pot of what the average citizen may be thinking about certain unthinking actions they take. I think the average citizen would think if the government was using the internet to capture and destroy hopefully any lousy sadistic terrorist groups they would agree with. I have nothing against the government from doing this. There again I am not a civil rights nut. All these whistle blowers get their week of fame and then disappear into the never never. If I had my way every citizen of every country their DNA would be held available in the memory banks of a computer. Unfortuanetly the present excuse for a government here haven't had enough similar to my remarks of the obvious thing they should now do, which of course is exit the stage. Ref. Ivans post about the US stating their inventive brainwaves of the Mulberry harbours I find more disturbing than the government looking in at emails. Cheers John Sabourn

Education iz a wundeful thing yep spelt rong az will some other partz of this post to highlight wot iz rong
It was about 2 weeks ago 20% of kids thought fish fingers were made of chicken even if the name kind of gives it away (please no comments on horse meat = beef its still no excuse ) this was a survey of thousands with other things like tomatoes were a root vegetable coming up as answers what hope have they got of learning something properly when nobody cares
After watching the film bad teacher it sort of explains why the kids are the way they are there must be thousands of teachers out there like that
Why read a book when you can watch the movie look at the famous people these kidz look up to OK the actors can read and learn their lines (not the lines they sniff) but what about other celebs not naming names but hey look things up they got big hooters so don't need brains and this rubs off on younger and younger kids every year
Reality tv shows bring the thickest of people into your front room why because if they knew what they were talking about the show would flop and die out how do they get new stars they dumb down the kids to be the future stars
So nex time yoo seez kidz talkin funee think are they reely fik or jus tryin yo get famouse right yea like whatevah
Remember the movies they watch do not need to follow the plot line of the book a few special effects will fix that problem and if history never went that way "any resemblance to persons living or dead is purely coincidental " is a good get out clause used in most movies who needs facts when you have entertainment
Now for the facts as seen in all them blockbuster movies
Did you know a ships capstan is made of foam rubber proof of this is in the movie titanic watch the actors bounce off the big wobbly one
when you have been shot full of holes and left for dead you can still outrun the enemy platoon
1 well trained man can win a war all on his own verses an army =any movie with arnie in it
When the dead rise from the grave a blow to the head kills zombies ??? what about the ones that died from head trauma first time round ??? or are they the undead undead super zombies

The americans are the most brainwashed people on earth .( Land of the free and home of the brave )they invented freedom for all the world . and holliwood managed to distort everything in favour of the USA .so the general population believed what was fed to them . most of the yanks are super patriots who saved the world from tyranny and dictators . they invaded Iraq for weapons of mass destruction my a..ss .it was to get Saddam out ,after shooting a bunch of scud missiles into Isreal, the weapons of mass destruction were given him by the USA during the Iran / Iraq war that was instigated by Reagan in retaliation for the hostage crisis . that took over a million lives .it seems the us backs a lot of phony regimes for thier own interests, not those of the people of those countries . bugger it I,m off for a pint or three .tarar der lads .

I remember being in the Market Diner in New York, in 1956, the Queen Mary`s Bow was opposite the bar.
A Yank I was talking to said to me, `How would you Limies like to have a ship like that one.`
I said `That is one of ours it is British, ` `No it isnt `he said` its an American ship.`
The guy would not believe it was not one of theirs. So sad.
I was on the old Franconia at the time on the next pier.

The book to read that dispels all claims that the USA invented everything and won everything is a book called Made in America by Bill Bryson readily available on both Amazon and eBay. Bryson is an American and all of his books are an absolute scream to read. In the book I refer too he dispels the myth that Gridiron Soccer originated in the US, also that Coca Cola was not an American concoction. The book consists of 478 pages and well worth a read.

Without the good old USof A we would have nothing, well so they tell us! But as to the issue of security the fact is that big brother is everywhere. You cannot send an e-mail, make a phone call, put in a tax return , see your doctor, even walk down the street. Somewhere there is someone monotoring each event. But if it makes the world a safer place then I have no problem, but the fact is thta some of the info will get into the wrong hands. But if as a nation you wish to cause conflict with another then waht better way than to allow some so called clasified info to be released.

Happy daze John in Oz.

I recall a couple of years ago in a bar in Hong Kong a US Marine getting seriously anise when he was told to his chagrin that the British had invented the Harrier jump jet which he was singing the praises of as a pilot of one. He was adamant it was a US invention as the Marines used them. It almost came to blows but due to the fantastic ability of smart phones he was blown out of the water by the internet. No apology though just a tad shamefaced.
They also believe they were the first to bring about a defeat on the Japanese, well they were not it was done in Burma by the British & Indian army & much of it hand to hand as well. No point arguing as they get pretty upset. They do not believe it was Sir Frank Whittle who invented the jet engine or a Kiwi Lord Rutherford who first cracked the atom either. Oh we could rattle on all day, computers, TV, radar Asdic though why, let them have their simple pleasures (: Worse they do not play rugby or cricket, how sad is that?
Still I like them I enjoy their country find them extra friendly as well as generous, so bugger it I shan't be too hard on them except for their inane attitude to guns a shocker & they are so blind they can not see it.
