Re: Cappys lost relative
Hi Cappy,
Andrew Edwin Cram was drowned at Dunston while on the MALABAR 26.12.1912.
Was Sinclair Cram b. 26.5.1880 in Shetland if so he has a MN photo?
Regards
Hugh

Re: Cappys lost relative
Hi Cappy,
I think I have found him but I am breaking my own rules by not researching deep enough so I have some doubts. Was Sinclair Cram's father, John, an American. Was Sinclair Cram ever in the RN to your knowledge?
Regards
Hugh

Re: Cappys lost relative
That's good Cappy we appear to have found him. The only thing - on his card it says Dis R Navy 13.5.1919 - my thinking is that he may have served in the RN during WW1 and rejoined the MN in October 1919.
Maybe I could be so bold to ask Marian if she could check the RN medal role for Sinclair Cram from the Ancestry site - I don't have access to that one. All UK, Naval Medal and Award Rolls, 1793-1972 results for Sinclair Cram
Could you send me your email address via a pm and I will send you on the information I have. The cards I have are copyright from another site so really shouldn't be posted on here.
Regards
Hugh

Re: Cappys lost relative
He was born in Shetland in 1880 and death registered in Gateshead, third quarter of 1924. He does not appear on the Deaths at Sea Register but I have him signed on the CRETEBOOM on 1st May 1924 - that appears to have been his last ship.
