Hello from Aboard QM2
Hello everyone,
I've missed you all for a few days but it's Friday night and I'm posting from the Internet room on Deck 2 of QM2. The grand lady is gently rolling and it's a misty foggy night, but she's beautiful and I'm literally in seventh heaven!!
It poured rain as we sailed under the bridge out of New York but I managed to get a few snapshots and will post shortly. Met another seafarer this evening at dinner, Peter who sailed with Cunard until 1959 - knows Brian.
I'm trying to be a good daughter of a seafaring family and not get seasick but I suppose it'll take a little getting used to, this slow roll.
Will hopefully post more in the next few days.
Cheers,
Jacyn

Re: Hello from Aboard QM2
Have a good trip and glad you finally made it onboard, I'm sure you'll be getting a lot of undivided attention even though you may not know it, be careful of engineers they'll promise the world and as soon as you show them a nut and bolt they'll desert you, better stick to navigators at least they know where they are going (well most of the time!). Anyway my dear have a good trip with smooth sailing and fair winds and the weather for your arrival is forecast to be fine. Bon Voyage

Re: Hello from Aboard QM2
Hi Jacyn,
enjoy the QM2, most magnificent ship in the world. I did the maiden voyage on her and the first Cape Horn voyage from Florida to LA on her. six weeks. Give my regards to Peter, get a photo if possible.
Try the Planetarium and fly through the stars and planets, the only one at sea.
and enjoy.
Cheers
Brian.

Re: Hello from Aboard QM2
Thanks all for the well wishes. I'm finding my sea legs now, although the gin & tonics (gins & tonic, gins & tonics???) probably don't help much!
Brian, I'll pass on your hello to Peter and try to get a photo. Looking forward to the planetarium too.
Got some great shots of the funnel this morning and a look at the bridge. Oh yes, before I forget, I just happened to glance over the side yesterday and was lucky enough to see the pilot climb down the side and into the pilot's boat after we were out of New York. He even waved!
Must be off now and find dear mum and see what trouble we can get into...
Cheers!
