    Hiya Mike as a 16 year old pantry boy and A/S in the 1950's I remember the scene very well. On the Kiwi coast we used go down and clean 'em out ready for the return voyage .

    Neil many things in that picture is not allowed in todays health and safety rules from the holdsmen to dockers landing cargo and we did it every day a well oiled team on deck and not well oiled {pi..ed} but teamwork every one doing their job? jp

    Just add the rattling of the winches, yells from the wharfies and the smells of cargo. Ahhhhh!
