Re: Ellesmere Port docks
If you are a Facebook user look up the Manchester ship canal group, loads of photos and information on the canal. There is also the Ellesmere port canal boat museum, maybe they are also on Facebook. Interesting museum and the old workshops have been demolished and flats and resrtraunts built. Often been in Ellesmere port shopping and having a pint or three when loading at stanlow or QE dock at Eastham.

Re: Ellesmere Port docks
first trip apprentice,
first visit to Stanlow,
first visit to the Horse and Jockey (I think it was the first pub we came to).
first time I ran into two "ladies" in the lounge (bare boards and rough tables, never tried the bar)
first time I was threatened with a getting my head kicked in by two "ladies" if I didn't disappear as I (and a couple of others) was putting off genuine punters (we were skint).
