Donaldson Atlantic Line's LISMORIA/LAURENTIA
My next project for my "Wanted on Voyage" blog is LISMORIA and LAURENTIA of 1948-66, Donaldson Line's last passenger ships.
I am not finding too many photographs of these from the usual sources (including here), especially of LISMORIA (identified by her lattice work radar mast), and if they exist, of LAURENTIA when she was initially in service c. 1948 as a twelve-passenger cargo ship, photos of them being refitted at Barclay, Curle etc.
Should anyone have photos or material on these they are willing to scan for use in this project, I'd be most grateful as would, I am sure, readers.
I think they were marvelous little ships and extremely popular throughout their 18-year careers yet quite under documented as is so often the case for smaller, less pretentious vessels.

ALL of these are excellent and most appreciated!
The one showing LAURENTIA as a "twelve" is the first one I've seen... she was in this configuration for less than nine months.

Re: Donaldson Atlantic Line's LISMORIA/LAURENTIA
So.... here is an uncropped original print version of this photo with a good clue as to the location... the pair of what appear to be two "Cock" tugs of the memorably named Liverpool Screw Towing and Lighterage Co. on the far left with their characteristic all buff funnels.
The Donaldson twins often did call at Liverpool (or Birkenhead) for cargo loading when they ran on the Vancouver route during the winter c. 1950-55 so this indeed may show LAURENTIA on one of these... indeed, she looks so smartly turned out, it could be right after her second conversion to a 55-passenger combi liner.
