Where were you ?
I read Doc Vernons Thread re Liverpool Nostalgia and enjoyd the video very much. At the start it showed a car driving out of the Mersey Tunnel around 1965 (So long ago yet not all that long) and It brought back a memory, I was driving through the Mersey Tunnel when home on leave and between ships this was in 1962. I was with my then girlfriend and I proposed to her in the middle of the Tunnel and she accepted. I am happy to say we celebrated our Golden Wedding Last year.
Where did you propose, there should be some good replied I'm sure.
Johgn Albert Evans.

#5 Lou, Just know there will be a retort from Happy Daze about the 'dancing and the wrestling'
My husband proposed after a romantic meal and we married 10months later, 36 years in May

Re: Where were you ?
We had been to loncon Zoo to see the Chipmonks afternoon tea party, bit like question time in parliament, and Terri went to the loo. She took of her finger a ring given to her by her brother for her 21st. By the time she realized and went back in it was gone. Being the ever romantic I had already bought a ring and was waiting the opportunity to po the question. So later that day ata restaurant we liked I aked if this ring would make up for the one lost. We had only been going out for six weeks at this time and she said yes. She will have been married 46 years in July.

Re: Where were you ?
HI John.
Many more happy returns to you and yours.
I met my wife in 1957 on the Southern Cross on the way out to NZ. Unfortunately not long after arriving we had a tiff and we never saw each other until I contacted her in late 58 but she did consent to look after me for the rest of my life so I forgave her!!!! We have been together now 56 years and got a few to go yet.
Cheers Des
