On this Day in 2015
Lou Barron 1-5-1924 TO 29-5-2015
Today i remember Lou my Friend
You were true Blue up to the end.
Not big in stature but massive in Heart
Once a Friend made never to part.
His kindness i recall in Words and in deeds
Always caring for others needs
Very supportive in Family and Friends
Yes again there Lou right to the end
So i sit here quietly all by myself
And look at your photo here on the Shelf
A great reminder of a Guy i met and befriended
And there will be no time that this will be ended.
Far apart i know we are now Lou
But be sure my Friendship will always be true,
Rest in Peace my dear Friend
One day my time will also end
We may then once again meet
Be it in the way beyond or who knows
In some far off Street!
Your Pal "We will remember you Lest we forget"

Re: On this Day in 2015
For the 29-5-2017 the second Anniversary of our dear friend and Comrade Charles Louis Barron
Once again the time comes around for me and I know many others here and all over to sit and remember Lou.
He as said in my Poem dedicated to him above, will always be in my thoughts,a great little Man,but big at Heart and always with that great smile on his face no matter what!
How the time flies,i cannot believe that it is now two Years since his untimely Departure from this World.
So my dear Friend, again I say Rest in Peace you will not be forgotten and one day may we meet in a better place!
Sincerely
Doc Vernon and Irene

Re: On this Day in 2015
RIP Lou,
A great man. I watched his Funeral live on Stream , very sad.
I met him in Dunedin and he took me home to his family, below, with his wife Peggy, who died a few weeks later, and his daughter Brenda, then with him in Liverpool, he had a young admirer a 14 year old Liverpool girl who was very interested in his experiences in WW2.
and with some of the lads at the meet up.
Always remembered
Brian

Re: On this Day in 2015
The 2013 meet-up in Liverpool, it only seems like last week, where does the time go. Lou fondly remembered he gave Wendy and myself a book about his home town which I had visited in 1956, so long ago now makes us realise we have to make the most of today every day, as one day there will be no tomorrow. Happy sailing Lou.
