Well maybe you are right and no doubt will have picked up a few tips from Capitalists on the art of how to pay yourself big bonus's and plunder workers pension funds , like Sir Philip Green and BHS. That is why I put my hard earned money into property as an investment for my retirement. I went down the private pension fund and took on board some very bad advice, Equitable Life shafted more or less everyone it could. Hambro life/Allied Dunbar so called financial advice consultant, lying robbing barstard. So no more of that for me , Bricks & Mortar.

Re: Lost
Wait until the big black hole of pensions starts to take effect when the youth of the last 10-20 years reach retirement age. These unfortunates have been kept in long term education, acquiring, in many cases , useless degrees, so don't leave education until 22 years old. At that point no decent jobs, pension schemes in employment generally dodgy, witness Corrilion, plus at 22 looking to get married, buy a house etc, absolutely useless to talk to them about pensions, even if they have got a job, most of them have debts from university of 40-60 thousand pounds, so when retirement age looms, it will be the benefit system only. All governments are ignoring this looming disaster, all they are interested in is the next 4 years. It has suddenly dawned on the gov that there are not enough nurses being trained, why not ??? because they have treated nurse training like university students, and have to pay tutor fees etc and borrow the money, they must be joking, pay to learn on the job, wiping peoples arses etc. No one has their eye on the future, kt

###but surely the labour left shout of ....HOW CAN YOU HAVE TWO HOUSES WHEN SOME ARE LIVING ON THE STREET.....which you to be fair lewis you have commented on in the past .......is it not for you to sell your property and give a street sleeper a deposit to help him get his house .....are you any less responsible than a carrilion director hanging on to his savings for the want of a better word.....after all carrilion were making big profits for many years ......just a thought .......from an other property owner ......

Re: Lost
#52... re bricks and mortar I took that advice and had two rental properties. Australian tax laws being what they are/were was able to claim tax reductions on their mortgages. Unable to claim on your own house mortgage like the UK. However when retired they were a liability and sold otherwise having no earnings were having to pay tax on supposedly earnings on same, which did not exist. Long story. Some however live on the houses they own now and bought through what is known here as negative gearing. Sold the property’s for what I bought for, so were no capital gains to pay. Did not have the time or the experience out here then to do the job right. Re pensions via various employments, most disappeared with the company’s disappearance. We all have been conned in various ways. JWS
