    Default The Trumpet has blown

Well the trumpet has blown the world trade apart, Australian farmers have said they will cop the 10% Tariff on beef exports to the US, where it fills their hamburgers; it is much better than allowing foot and mouth into our Australia, as Trump said they don't take our beef.
The only stupid thing is, it will be the people in the US who will pay the higher prices.
It would be interesting to hear Rod's opinion.

It will also affect the people of Australia Des , the business man will just increase the cost of the product to cover his loss and wham bam thank you Mam we are back into the realms of inflation, the present government will try and throw pennies at the general public to appease the cost of living putting the country further into debt , but keeping themselves in power , and as someone said not so long back we are heading for a banana state. Proper fiscal management and self living off our own products is the answer ,not buying foreign submarines. JS
America will finish up by the rest of the world sending them to Coventry , they will lose whatever good will they thought they have , the world can survive without them as it did for millenniums . That ww2 well known dictum will apply as the the US troops stationed in the uk were well known as having 3 main faults ….Over sexed, Overpad, and Over here, JS

Normally dont reply to these kind of ongoing Threads, almost (Political) but all i can say is that although i did think that Trump would do some good as President, i was incorrect , as all he is doing now is stuffing the Entire World up.
So much for making America Great Again!
    Thats me done here!

Tariffs are nothing new, we have them here on some goods entering Oz.
But the type he is imposing will do so much damage to USA and in many instances the rest of the world.
But it may well start many countries into finding new markets.
China will hit USA in a bad way, some thing maybe he never thought of.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

US stock market dropped by $1.7 TRILLION yesterday. Makes the balls up a certain female PM did in the UK look like small change.
I see Elon has said feck this for a game of soldiers I am out of here. His business empire is crashing down around his ears.
He has a friend in Moscow though who wants to team up with his Mars ambitions , not surprising really it is the RED planet anyway.
Now I wonder what the Donald will think about that plan, Moscow getting the low down about Musk Rats rockets

Trump poking his nose into French politics he has sent a message of support to Marine Le Pen, I wonder did he sign with love from one felon to another.
Have to admire the French no messing about, done for embezzlement, you are going to jail, you have the right to appeal, you will not be allowed to run for president and banned from holding public office for 5 years.
They have her bang to rights and there is absolutely no ulterior political motive behind these (Trumped) charges
Say what you like but mini Macron would run rings around a lot of so called world leaders.

Donald Trump has demanded France “free” Marine Le Pen and labelled her ban from running for office a “witch hunt”.

The hard-Right leader was found guilty of embezzling EU funds to pay party staff in a court ruling in Paris on Monday.

She was barred from politics from five years – preventing her from running in the next French presidential election – and handed a four-year prison sentence, two of which will be served under house arrest and the other two will be suspended.

Honestly if I was an American I would be having serious concerns about Trumps mental state. I think he is living in Disneyland. Just think if he is declared as not mentally competent would the US be any better off as JD Vance would replace him.
No wonder Rodney has not posted in a while.

Could be wrong but doubt it. With all these tariffs he put on Australia came out with the least at 10%. So lets get this right. I all the supermarkets where to put their prices up by the amount that Donald put tariffs up and just one supermarket chain put their prices up by 10%. Where do you this all the shopper would go to purchase their wares. Now does this not leave some scope for a lot of enterprising sods to start a company up in Australia and import their goods to then export them to America therby reducing the tariff imposed upon them. Like Vesty did during the foot and mouth outbrake in the UK where he sent his BA flyers to the continent and then shipped his beef back to the UK on his coasters. Or similar when South America told him that he had to allow foriegn ships to trade there. He started a shipping company up in Italy. Swings and roundabouts come to mind for sure. Or storm in a teacup as well
That's the way the mop flops.

    Hi Les.
Looks like most of it has hit the stock markets, mostly in the USA, and that would be the only reason for prices to go up, for the greedy to lift their prices to get their money back.
    Des.
was reading some of our old posts on the Union Co web in the Forums, long time posts there , had tears from nostalgia.

Hey Vern just keep holding them and except the paper loss not convert it to a realistic loss by selling them.
