Thanks for that Brian, I was there 50 years ago for the Centenary, when Prince Philip attended, he was either Patron or President. Wynn Jones, a local lad, who speaks in the first couple of minutes, was there the same time as me and taught me how to say LllanfairPG..........., been useful on a couple of occasions

I was there 1961 to 1963. It was a bit rough and the punishment 6 cuts etc were something else, kids nowdays would freak out. The chief officer Mr Derrick had two dodgy paralysed fingers where he hooked the cane into, on the swing he stopped the cane about 1 inch from your ar*e so you got the whiplash effect. Next day you had six neat bruises on your cheeks, that just for smoking even if you were 16 years old and about to leave the school.
