Re: Vindi Web Site
Hi Buck.
All Vindi boys were given that small blue bible with MN of the front by Mark Allen from the local Gospel mission, I still have mine from 1949 in pristine condition, not that I am a believer but it is part of my history. There is a Vindicatrix web site where you may be lucky to find a picture of your dad's group , all had their group pictures taken and his could be among the many they have on site listed by date, most however were from being sent in by old boys so ir is a bit hit and miss.
Cheers Des

Re: Vindi Web Site
Des, by the time I went there in 1960 they must have become atheists as I never got one.
Do not recall any church services, or was there something on a Sunday morning for those who wanted??

Thank you, that cleared up that little puzzle. I've been on the Vindicatrix web site and think I found a photo with him in it - just trying to work out if it is or not as I haven't seen any photos of him as a young 17 year old.

Re: Vindi Web Site
Here is a Link to what looks like could be a very interesting read to those that attended the Vindicatrix, and also I guess for many others (Like me) who never went there.
Hope it may bring some past remembrances and delights to your Hearts of the Vindicstrix
Cheers

Yes John, there was an incident in the early 60's when a ship hit the bridge over the river adjacent to where the Vindi was.
There were a large number of spans on the bridge and many of the lads there would count off the spans as they counted down to leaving the Vindi.
With the missing span it made it a bit difficult for some to count.

Hi Ken, didn't notice the state of the water as it was covered in ice. No doubt the talkers did as it seems that they were a bit accident prone and had a habit of 'falling' in. Approaching ninety so don't think I could get up on the side of the tank without the whole class assisting!
