Re: Climate Change
My car is 14 years old , it is excellent, the best I have ever had, and has never ever let me down.
So to get a lower tax bill I would have to spend several Thousands of POUNDS to get another, DAFT.
SHOULD PUT THE TAX ON PETROL, THE MORE YOU DRIVE THE MORE TAX YOU PAY.

Re: Climate Change
Taxi is already heavy on petrol and
would have an adverse effect on
inflation: the food we buy etc, as
transport costs would be affected.
Best just pay as it is, as all do.
Otherwise, you would have to take
it up at Government level.,
Personally, prefer not to have strikes
over petrol costs on top of everything else.
K.
PS: - April 2019 saw petrol prices rise by the second-highest amount on record.

'But Charlie what do they 'ave on the weels for tires, some wood”
'No Davo rubber tires like wot we got on our cars'
'But Charlie they made from oil an you sez they gona get rid of it.
'No Davo we will git them from overseas then we don't put no missions in our air”
'But Charlie wha 'bout all the animals we gota eat, aint they makin some of these missions”
'Yes Davo but we will send them overseas and buy the meat back from them, come in Dover port”
'Charlie, you sezin I gota go to Dover to git my Pork chops”

Regarding, a persons personal tax payments and how and what occurs with parts of these would need answering from higher bodies as mentioned, all advice given has been general in an attempt to assist.

Re: Climate Change
information on climate change.
https://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-49817804
For a hundred or more years after Columbus found out that the world was round the majority opinion was that it was flat. It took massive amounts of gold and silver brought back from the Americas to filter down to the man-on-the-street and to enrich the church for opinions to be altered. With today's instant communications, visual in the form of photos, and in word and reading, opinions are changing rapidly
I would be more interested on this thread if instead of the repeated comments such as "a group of scientists said", "a friend of mine heard on the radio that, "the weather in my …. is just the same as it was years ago", how about telling us the scientific body involved and/or the scientists involved, or a link like this one aiding your position. Give facts, figures, statistics and from where or by whom not just generalities based on speculation. Please give back-up to support your claims, Do a little "cut and paste" to support your claims as Keith has been doing, otherwise it's just more singing to the choir.

Singing to the choir:
Noticed the unorthodox hymn sheets.
Yes Rodney, facts, figures, statistics and from where or by whom not just generalities based on speculation
would be appreciated, much otherwise seems like hearsay or needing large pinches of salt.

Re: Climate Change
There are many other factors in the cause of climate change which are being ignored.

Re: Climate Change
My views on this subject are based on many years of weather observations world wide and reporting them to the Met Office in Bracknell Herts.
Many other Navigators also were Weather observers when they were at sea, so why do you criticize that and not question a classroom "Ology".
When you both have experience of this then I will listen to you.
