Saying , what sayings?
Discovered on U Tube that there are now ole episodes of 'Minder' George Cole and Dennis Waterman, great comedies of their day.
As usual there were some saying that we all know, but what do they mean and how did they arrive?
Two that stuck in my mind.
'He cocked a def un'
What exactly is a 'Deaf un' and how do you cock it?
The 'as thick as two short planks'.
Which raises the question, how thick and how short do they have to be to fit the situation.
'
Thick as a brick', would this be any kind or a special design to fit the situation?
No doubt there are many others you can relate to.
