Re: Trump
Des makes a valid point about China being around longer than USA.
There is a display currently in Sydney of photos showing the connection between the Australian Aborigines and China.
In Chinese history there are stories of China sending out ships in search of trade as long ago as the 13th century.
One Chinese record shows they reached the west cost of oz then.
Ther they found a race of tall people chasing a pygmy race and eating them in a cannibal style.
It is quite possible that some Chines on those ships got their leg over with some of the locals.
It is doubtful they reached USA but now have their sights set on that very venture, and Trump may weel be Trumped.

Re: Trump
The tariffs imposed by Trump may well be his undoing.
As a result China has put a ban on some products going to USA, also looking for new markets for them.
there are a number of countries looking to do extra trade with China.
So in time, and that may not be too long, other countries become used to having China as a trade mate.
So slowly China takes hold of them to the extent there will be no where else for them to trade.
So USA ends up on the outer and China reaches the goal it wants.
USA falls down the line.
All because one man thinks he knows better than all the rest, and gets some support from others.
Then there is the theory that this is all about his mates making more money on the stock exchange.
Crush the price so they can buy when it is down and make a killing!!!!!

Re: Trump
UK Government & MP's attended the house on Saturday for an emergency debate about future ofScunthorpe Steel works. The Chinese owners were set to close it down and that would have been the end of Steel making in the UK. Speculation was that the plant owners Jingye Group were instructed by the Chinese Government to run the plant into the ground. No doubt the intention was or is to flood the UK market with cheap Chinese steel seeing as Trump has jacked up Tariffs on imports to the USA.
Anyway the Chinese owners were apparently selling the coking coal and delibrately render the plant unuseable as the Blast Furnaces would have been damage beyond repair.
Apparently about 30% of the management and admin staff were Chinese nationals. They were prevented from entering the site for fear of industrial sabotage.
The UK Parliament stepped in and saved the plant from closure. They have sourced fuel and coking coal so production can continue. Basically they have Nationalised the plant or as good as.
It would appear China are not very happy about it.
The plant is running at a loss and it will be funded by the Tax payers until it is fully nationalised. THe UK Government at long last has woke up and stated that it is a vital industry for the Uk and our security, not before bloody time. With luck that will be the race to net 0% and ED Milliband looking for a job.
Concerning steel production vast sums of money will be needed to replace the Blast Furnaces with Elecric Arc furnances. What makes steel making in the UK expensive is the high energy costs, Maybe it is time to revue who owns the UK energy suppliers and Nationalise them as well.
So the thing is , steel making in the UK is expensive but if we shut steel mills down we save millionsm but those who get made redundant how many millions will the government have to pay out in welfare benefits.
No foriegn country should be allowed to own the lions share of UK Utility companys

Re: Trump
One massive stuff up he did was to send an innocent man down to that jail in South America, big mistake for the man and his family, he had no convictions, was just an ordinary bloke. Now the President of that Country has said that his hands are tied, he can't send him back as it is not in the Constitution, What a load of Bks' If it had happened in Russia there would have been hell raised.

Re: Trump
Theer are severe rumblings in USA now about his presidency and how longer he will survive.
Many locals are now complaining about price rises, no doubt some are from companies making a killing before the full effect is felt.
He would not be the first president to be 'removed' because of his actions. Time will tell.

Re: Trump
No one in the USA has got balls to remove him. Trump will call up the Proud Boys Militia and instruct the commander in Chief Proud Boy leader Enrique Torres to Fight Fight Fight, he may throw in the word peacefully just to make sure he himself cannot be accused of inciting riot.
I wonder what odds a book maker would give on Trump doing a full term !!!!!
There are a lot of disgruntled US Citizens at the moment and also a lot of Military grade guns in the hands of some of these unhappy citizens. It has been done before!

Re: Trump
When Trump was elected the first time, my wife gave me a T-shirt with the words on it, "Elect a clown, Expect a circus."
With his second election, he's so far past "circus" it's not funny anymore.

Some of the judges now are coming down on him over the deportation antics.
A number of states including California, the fifth largest economy world wide, are starting to jack up.
How long can he last????
