If enough people put their tvs on the tip work out the number of people and trades it would make redundant , and cause certain groups of people to raise their standards appropriately either that or go on the dole. I think today with the present world situation and lack of money , people will get more and more observant on what they are paying for , especially in the entertainment world. JS

Jeez Blue, just tink of wot you could do with all that extra time, throw another sausage on the barbie, take a spin round the block, or just sit and savour a tinnie in the sun.

Had spectacular thunder and lightening here (nothing like the Indian Ocean though) last night Guy Fawkes would have been proud of, enough rain fell in six hours to care of three quarters of Aprils usual rainfall, ah! well! keeps the dust down!

What I’ve done for the past 23 years Ivan , sit and peruse my navel with the often treat of a beer or a bottle of wine , and for the few shorter years drink to the seafarers of this site who over that period of time have departed for that endless ocean in the heavens. The tv and movies can never fill in for the real actions of life and the living it is only make belief and nowhere near the real thing. Cheers JS.
I think for the past 27 years of my life I got most pleasure from the company of my peers in the shared believe in charitable deeds and for those who think are a secret society through ignorance of not understanding what it stood for , but age does catch up and other duties come first., I still belong to same but do not practice it too much through force of circumstances , however would advocate to others the advantages of being a worthwhile person before reaching a much older age. However everyone to his own discipilines and morals. Herein begins the first and last lesson of life as seen by myself , with of course the bangers on the BBQ thrown in together with other refreshments to keep body and soul together., The weather is changing the time I have been out here as usually WA sees its last cyclone of the season by the end of March at the latest but looking at the synoptic chart by the weather bureau it looks like a tropical low building up to a cyclone in the NW off the coast in Australia. Never usually gets as far south as Perth but there’s always a first time.Think I threw my seaboots away .,Cheers , hope you’ve got your hot cross buns in .,JS

£169.50 for a load of crap generally. On occasions we get some sports, like football or snooker, but it's a rarity.
This morning it was worth watching though, because they had the findings of the 5 judges on the "What is a woman" case. I'd been confused previously, but now I know, Can't wait for the next case. Once they get enough millions together from our taxes to come up with "What is a man". It's so exciting.

Oops! Mrs just told me it's gone up a fiver this month.

    John.
The reason that the programs are such rubbish is that they know no one is watching anyway. Example, I watch a ABC program most nights where four people vi with a subject close to them.for a silly looking mug. My wife being more astute than me retires to the spare bedroom and watches ships on U Tube, can't get enough of seas smashing over the decks and sailors racing about tying down loose stuff. I sometimes suspect she hopes to see me being washed over the side LoL, then she comes out and tells me all about it. I think u-tube is watched more than TV these days.

All I watch is CNN News, 61/2 minutes in the AM and PM. I've timed it there are 6 1/2mins of actual news bracketed by 6 1/2 mins of Commercials. This is on CNN This is CNN here in the States. I have it down to a science or fine art. Switch on the TV allow a couple of seconds for the TV to warm up, 2 seconds of commercial and straight into the News. 6 i/2 mins later TV off. I'm still here and so is the USA and we haven't dropped the big one.....yet........Twelve hours later 6 1/2 mins. more of a talking head telling me what Washington D.C wants me to hear. If nothing much they fill in with BBC, I suppose for a little light humor with the going ones of. the Windsors Especially if the plummy Oxbridge interviewer is interviewing a Scouse or a Yorky. We never get a Lancashire interviewee, I guess nothing much happens there. i guess the mines have become safer or they have closed. Still, there are the Windsors and they are always a good filler with their going Ons,

    Hi Rod.
Good to hear from you. The only time we watch anything to do with the Windsors is for my wife to have a look at the latest makeup, and that is on the men darling.

Just to add to dislikes of TV. Here in Oz the ABC put a show on sunday morning called weekend breakfast which I cannot abide as it is two hours of repeating the same segments over and over. They have a similar show during the week but cannot comment on those because I do not watch them. Then there is the show called Insider. Think Keating called that correctly. A show for insomniacs. Have had a recorder for years and like others just record what shows I want to watch and then fast forward the adds and crap that comes out of them. I reckon that we should thank all those in the UK for paying licence fees as without them we would have sweet FA to watch.
That's the way the mop flops.

My thanks to Brian for this site.

The amount of free to air we watch can be seen most weeks in about 90 minutes and most of that is the SBS news.

If it were not for U Tube and the pay for ones there would be no need for a TV.

As for ABC, nothing more than a political platform for the Labor party.
    Happy daze John in Oz.
