    Default Needing Assistance

My grandfather Captain John Owen Meirion Humphreys (Oct 1917 - Oct 1985) did his apprenticeship wth Blue Star Line begining 1932 or 1933. He sat his exams at Loughborough, Leistershire England.

Would anyone know how I would go about finding more information on ships he sailed on while with Blue Star Line.

Towards the end of his sea going career he was the Harbour Master of the Port of Devonport, Tasmania Australia.

I am also seeking information on where I could find information on Master Mariners dating back to 1808 to the present, all are Welsh and from the Cardigan, Cardiff, St Dogmells areas.

I come from a long line of Master Mariners, 8 generations so far and have continued the family tradition, I married a Mariner, Captain Paul Webster, currently Harbour Master of the Port of Eden NSW, Australia.

    Any help would be appreciated

    With thanks

    Kate

    Thank you so much Ray,

Your long shot, was spot on.

Keith, I have searched the Welsh Mariners list,I haven't Located John Owen Meirion, but I have located family members further back through the generations. Thanks for your help
