Good morning Don Grannell from Western Australia. I am trying to get in touch with an old shipmate of mine named Terry Cox he hails from the Tdibury (I think) area. We sailed on together for Weston Shipping in the late seventies/early eighties. I would appreciate if anyone could help. VMT Don

Hello Don Hedley Williams here, we were on the Alannah Weston together 30 years ago,I can't believe where the time has gone. I'm back in West Wales now, having lived all over the country and did a spell out in Western Australia' working out of Broome back in '81/82. Terry Cox was living in Cardiff when we were in Westons, he was married to a Cardiff girl, last time I saw him was outside the Shipping office in Mount Stuart square, that must have been about 1980 and I haven't heard of him since. I remember meeting your family, when we were in Westons, I stayed in your house and we went to a birthday party or some kind of do, we had a good drink anyway. Keep in touch and if I hear anything about Terry I'll let you know. All regards Hedley
Now there you go Don,see this site does work! Isnt it just amazing how a lot find old Friends here! Great news for you i am sure! Cheers
Hello again Don I got it wrong as usual yesterday, it was a 2/mate called Ricky Cox I was thinking about, he was a Londoner lived in Cardiff, I was on the Sarah Weston with him if I remember rightly, old brain is a bit confused these days, it never was in good condition anyway. Apologies for the misinformation. Regards Hedley
Welcome Don to the MN site, enjoy what yousee and join in. Bon voyage.
G'day Hedley Hope you are well. Don't worry about getting things mixed up I often do these days, it must be a thing about old sailors and age. Anyway I was on both the Allanah Weston and the Sarah Weston. I was second Mate on the Allanah Weston, the Masters name was John and he drank a lot. I was Mate on the Sarah Weston for a short time relieving the then Mate who came from London somewhere. I am now in Western Australia, been here since April 1982 and doing a job as a Master/Manager working with the RAN. It's good to hear from you and I hope to hear from you again. Stay safe Regards Don
Thanks Vernon It's good to speak to MN people again. Shore still don't and never did understand our mentality/thinking and sometimes it's hard to get through to them. Regards Don
