New Kid on the Block
Not MN myself, but I grew up spending my summers on Lake Erie watching the lakers crossing to enter the Welland Canal.
Also a medal collector, and have learned a lot about the dangerous life of a merchant seaman.

Re: New Kid on the Block
Have an aerial picture on my wall in my home office of Cunard's mv Scotia transiting the Welland Canal in 1972 with the elevated motorway close to Niagara in the background with me on the bridge wing. Absolutely loved it. I recall the most dangerous part was the colour of the water in the Calumet river in Chicago, it was like milk!
